MTA Still Intends to Cut Bus Service to Harford County
Responding to economic problems, the MTA will cut commuter service to Harford County, including complete removal of one route, effective Jan 12, 2009. Details are included in this MTA Summary of Proposal. As we begin to respond to fuel shortages and global climate change, reduction in mass transit is not a smart move, especially not for a "Smart Growth" administration. The MTA held public input meetings on 17 November at John Carroll School and 25 November at both Edgewood Recreation Center and Perryville High School. They made no change to their plans as a result of these meetings or other citizen input.
